Preview; Bruins look to go into break on a high note against the Panthers

January 26, 2011

After coming off of a disappointing 2-0 loss to the Kings the Bruins will return to the East Coast to play the Panthers in their final game before the All-Star Break. The Bruins have won all three of the previous meetings with the Panthers outscoring the Panthers 10-3 in three games and will go for the season sweep tonight.

The Bruins are still up by two points on the Canadiens and will look to get a four-point lead when they use their game in hand tonight. The Panthers have been very streaky in the month of January. They started the month with a two-game winning streak then went on a three-game skid, then won three straight, then lost four straight before winning last time out. The Panthers, 4-3-3 in their last 10 games, are not the world’s best road team, something that could help the Bruins home woes.

I’m going to predict a Nathan Horton goal tonight, which would be his first in 10 games and second in over 20 games. It seems like poetic justice that Horton would score against his former team. If not, oh well, I tried.
